New Year New Space

Wildflower Yoga | JAN 3, 2023

Hello and Happy New Year!

There have been some exciting new developments happening over here, our little yoga space is moving to a bigger space and turning into an actual yoga studio! We will have a full line up of classes and some amazing teachers on the schedule as well. You can find it all on the website www.wildfloweryoga.ca

We are also having an OPEN HOUSE on Saturday January 7 and there will be free classes offered at 10:30am and 1:30pm (click on the time and you can sign up, easy peasy) Come and take a free class, enjoy some tea, and chat. We are still located in the same building at the Village Lifestyle Centre at 4039 Brentwood Rd NW, just down the hall from our other location.

There's lots of free parking and a nice little cafe in the building too. It's the perfect spot, close to the university, the c-train, and right off Crowchild Trail.

This was a big decision for me, and some familiar old feelings of not-enoughness and who-do-you-think-you-are crept in, right on schedule.

Who do I think I am? I am a movement teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching yoga and 10+ years of teaching swimming. I have been teaching people how to move well since I was 16 years old. Movement is my jam, and seeing how it improves so many aspects of our lives is what keeps me going.

I'm not into the wellness world, the place where you are told that if you are sick it must be something that you did, or your negative thoughts. No way. Our bodies age, they get sick, they change. One thing that I notice a lot is people telling me they should do yoga. I think you should do what you love, what lights you up and makes you want to move your body.

Our bodies love novel movements, they respond and adapt to them, and that is how I teach. I don't think that a supportive yoga practice is doing the same thing over and over everyday. I think it's moving our bodies in different ways, and being curious about them.

I hope you'll join me and find new ways of moving your amazing resilient body. You don't need to be flexible to do yoga, you just need to show up exactly as you are and we will meet you there.

Big hugs to you

Jenn
